The Pirates Won? College Football Update/Preview

The Pirates acutally won a game last night! Beating the Dodgers of LA 3-1. Donnie Veal gets the win and the Matt Capper gets it done! RBI’ Brandon Moss and GI Jones. Now for some pre Game info from Pirates President Frank Coonley.

In the Pittsburgh Post Gazette Frank Said [about losing] Quote:

“The team’s recent play has been extremely disappointing. Beyond that, it has been downright aggravating,” Coonelly said. “Decisions that we made for next year and beyond certainly left us short in some areas, but there is no excuse for the poor performance we’ve seen down the stretch.”

Aside from citing the short-term effect of some of the team’s many trades, he made clear that his dissatisfaction was aimed at the players.

“The players on the major league club have had a unique opportunity to make a positive impression going into this offseason, and very few have seized it. That will certainly play a role in our offseason decision-making. With the players who have seized their opportunity and the many players coming behind them, we remain convinced that we are much closer to playing winning baseball in Pittsburgh than it appears. But I am very frustrated that the fans who have supported us so passionately for so long have had to endure such poor play.”

Thank You Frank [at least someone from the front office recognizes our problem].

Rookie Watch

GI Jones-0 for 4 2-K’s
Cutch-0 for 3 1-K and 1-BB

GI Jones and his #10,000

After #9,999 was hit by GI last night he cranked the franchise’s 10,00th dinger, [tater], [round tripper], [homer] this afternoon agenst the Red Legs of Cinci. I hope the Pirates can get back on track for the series agenst the Red Birds of Saint Louie.

Rookie Watch for Today

Neil Walker- 0-4-2K’s has yet to get a Major League Hit

That’s all for now tomorrow is an off/travel back to the Burgh day. Friday we see the Centeral leading Red Birds in tawn. Friday- Adam Weinright for the Cards vs. Kevin Hart for the south streaking Bucs.

The countdown to infamy looks like…..3 games! If we lose three we will set that consecutive losing seasons record

The Centeral stuff.. the 16 game stretch vs all teams in the division well..the Bucs are 0-7.

Thanks.
